So, I have this book called 642 things to write about, and one of the things was ‘what a character holding a blue object is thinking right now’ so..
Blue. The colour or the feeling. It could associate with both. There he stood, holding a blue flower, his mums favourite. It made him think of her - even though she was gone - the simplicity of the petals, the complexity of the structure which always got to him. His mum, on the outside - beautiful - holding onto the simplicities in life. On the inside, a complex structure of memories, emotion and love. Makes sense that this blue flower grows where she rests - it symbolises the beauty of things, desire and love. That kind hearted soul has returned to the angels once more, leaving the memories and a reminder, that she is always watching over him. That blue flower.
women in the media
How the media presents women - i find sad. Sad because not all women are the size 0 models you see, not all women have perfect skin, not all women have a flat stomach.
I find it sad how editors have to photo shop an already beautiful woman into something she is not. Smoothing over her skin, making her legs/arms/stomach thinner, breasts larger. Why does the media have to present women like this?
Everyone is different, all shapes and sizes, personalities and life stories. Why change that? Why make them appear someone that they truly aren’t.
Looking back to the age where Marylin Monroe was alive, a successful star. This inspirational woman was a size 12, or a size 16 at her largest, this was beautiful. She had curves, and was still seen as gorgeous and made it as a Hollywood princess. The media did not change her look then, so why do it now?
Women seem to think that they have to look ‘perfect’, hair shiny, make-up immaculate and clothing - stylish. But please know that you do not have to succumb to the society we live in. Do not change for something you are not, ‘you are you - this is truer than true’ - dr.suess.
